About musician
Rustem Faizov was born in the Tashkent region in 1957. At the age of six, he began studying the accordion at a music school. At the age of 11, he entered a boarding school for musically gifted children in the city of Tashkent. Upon completion of the accordion course, he began to study the trumpet.
At the age of 16, Rustem entered Tashkent State Conservatory, the class of Professor Pulatov.
While studying at the conservatory, he began working in the State Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan. After graduation, he was invited to work as a solo trumpet player in the pop symphony orchestra of radio and television of Uzbekistan. During that period, he developed an interest in jazz and began to study this genre.
In 1979 he became a laureate of the all-union jazz festival, Fergana. Since 1978, he taught and worked as a musical director of the children's vocal and instrumental ensemble "Guncha" of the Republican Palace of Pioneers in Tashkent, which was one of the best children's groups in Uzbekistan; he defended the honor of the republic by participating in government concerts, all-union and international competitions as well as festivals. Having experience in the music and teaching areas, Rustem Faizov was invited to work as the head of the music department at the Uzbek Council of Trade Unions.
At the age of 29, the musician, engaged in administrative and creative work, created the Crimean Tatar ensemble "Efsane" at Uzbek State Philharmonic, where he worked as the head of the variety department, inviting the most famous and talented musicians (Edip Asanov, Narket Ramazanov, Seiyar Asanov, Zarema Mustafayeva, Rustem Bari, Riza Bekirov, Mustafa Ablaev, Edem Ablaev, Uryane and Zera Kenzhikayevs, Narvin Baybuganov, Fevzi Bilyalov, Dinara Arslanova).
In 1990 he returned to Crimea with his family and the ensemble "Efsane". "Efsane" is one of the first groups that performed in all corners of Crimea, raising the spirit of the people, who began to return to their historical homeland after 44 years.
In 1992 Rustem Faizov started working in the Republican Committee on Nationalities under the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. And since 2000, he taught at Crimean Engineering and Pedagogical Institute, at the Department of Musical Art, where he created a brass department.
In 2006 he moved with his family to the USA and now continues his work in two orchestras: a jazz big band and a vocal and instrumental ensemble.
Rustem Faizov performs at international festivals and concerts with the ensemble of the Crimean Tatar community of America; he has twice performed at the UN. The musician is engaged in social activities, promotes our Crimean Tatar art.
