Biography - Eldar Memetov

Eldar Memetov was born in Bakhchisarai in 1991.

He was not involved in creative activities as a child, but he loved to work with metal.

At the age of 13, his parents sent him to the workshop of the Crimean Tatar master-jeweler Ayder Asanov, where Eldar gladly spent all his free time.

The master recalls his teacher: “Thanks to Ayder Asanov, the filigree technique in the national style has been preserved. In difficult years for our people, no one did this, and now there is quite a lot to catch up and develop. Many crafts are still recovering from the upheavals that our people went through."

In 2009 Eldar graduated from Simferopol college, specializing in jewelry. However, the most important knowledge he received from his teacher, the famous Crimean Tatar jeweler Ayder Asanov.

The master shares his thoughts about Crimea: “The native land inspires. I plan to develop in my area, popularizing Crimean Tatar folk culture."

Eldar Memetov works and is engaged in creative activities in the village of Arankoy, Bakhchisarai district.
